Fun days and a giveaway!

Oooh hello!

Thats better.
We are very lucky in that our local park is amoungst lots of fields, a farm and a another field where a family own some Donkeys. This horse comes from the farm though. He was very friendly but I had to insist he didnt eat my camera, or my top!

Then yesterday we took advantage of the lovely weather and went to a little place called Osmotherley. If your ever in North Yorkshire and you want somewhere nice to go for the day but just to chill out, Osmotherley is perfect. It has a little village with mainly just one street lined with very old cottages and a couple of pubs so you can sit out with a nice drink. Then further up you go into the country at the bottom of some hills.

A shallow stream runs through it and there are lots of flat grass patches to set out your picnic and just basically relax. The kids can paddle in and out of the water, which they love and its so open they can run about like looneys.

Father and son inspecting something in the water.

Then a race to get to the top!

Back to the grindstone again today. What joy!

But wait, there is a giveaway!

I'm giving away one of my old style dolls and some other little bits and bobs.

All you need to do is leave a comment but I'd like you to tell me whats been your best day recently. What did you do? I have had such a lovely couple of days so it would be nice to hear what the rest of you have been up to.

I'll draw a name a week today.

Good luck!

wow, that looks like a great day (although your first photo did completely freak me out I have to say!)

our best day out together recently - mmm, in the local park, all on our bikes, lunch in the caff and icecreams sitting on a log.

My daughter was so pleased as she has just recently learned to cycle.

I have to agree with Annie on that. That first photo did scare me slightly!!!
Our best day recently was (in a very bizarre twist of fate) last weekend visiting my mom with Hubbie and kiddies. We did a mini train ride, I got a surprise pressie. Mom babysat for an hour while we nipped round town (and had a cheeky one in the pub on the way back) We then went back up the local with mom and kids (there is a huge ourdoor playground for them) got caught in a mahoosive rain storm which the girls found hilarious. Went back to moms, got fed, put girlies to bed and went back to the pub (which was cut short, but we just had a lovely relaxed family day)

I love the Neddy pics, I love coloured horses. A lovely pink velvety nozzle in the first !
My best day recently would have to be Boo & I's walk around our NT 'The Vyne'. It was a spur of the moment decision one sunny day the other week and it was just lovely. Warm sunshine, lots of daises and buttercups, some very rude cows and an ice-cream to finish off with. I did blog it.

yesterday was lovely up until taking H swimming. Before that we went to Chatsworth for a lovely lunch and a wander around, then stopped off in Matlock Bath on the way back home and H played on the new pirate pirate ship playground over the bridge across the other side of the river. Oh and I had a oggle at some pretty fabrics at the posh fabric shop at the end. Shame I can't really sew because there were some really pretty fabrics there.

Wow! I love that first photo - a kiss from a horse to start your blog off! hehe I've had loads of fab days just recently. My surprise parcel from incywincy made my day earlier this week. As the theme seems to be family jaunts, our visit to Mazeworld has to rank up there. Kiddie is a demon at maze solving and we managed to lose daddy twice!! After that we did the Wild Walk and spotted loads of plants, birds and animals. Finally we had a lovely chat with some Shetland ponies and the sun-bathing pigs with their factor 30 on their ears.
No craftiness was involved but it was huge fun anyway. :0)

I'm a teacher and I have had two great days this week with my students (Monday and Tuesday). Creativity and kindness have been the themes of these days. I go home frazzled somedays when the children are fighting or arguing so much. So it's been a good start to the week and I hope it keeps going. A Happy Week to you as well! The pics of your kids are beautiful.

My best day recently was last Saturday. We have a big, goofy, drooling Basset Hound named Dudley. He is a certified Therapy Dog. We took him to Cradle Beach Camp, which is a camp for disabled kids, and he did his therapy dog magic. We also took two of our grandkids, I think it is important for them to meet all kinds of people. We had a great time and look forward to going back.

Hi, I just found you from Northern Belles Crafts, we had a lovely picnic on Saturday in the museum gardens in York, lots of climbing on the ruins, and eating cake from Thomas the baker, and counting squirrels. both my childrens idea of a favourite day out would be playing in a stream or river, and getting very wet, so your trip to Osmotherly would be perfect for us, we'll have to try it.

I love Osmotherly - haven't been for years! I think I am going to have to be very boring and say spending the day with my best mate Rach was one of the best days I have had in ages - sitting in the sunshine, helping her do the garden and generally just being at ease with each other - we used to share, and had shared a house for 10 years until I moved in with my financee last year, so all these times remind me why we have been friends for so long.

I have never been there, but the name is so cool I want to go! I think there are some wonderfull place names in this country, and Yorkshire has some of the best (this is from a Lancastrian....) My favorites are Lumbutts and Mankinoles - I even drove through them one day just to see what they were like - tiny villages on very steep hills.

Great blog, that first shot scared me a tad though until I scolled down and sussed out what it was LOL My best day recently was yesterday. My OH works away a lot, he came back yesterday, missed the sun but it was still warm so we decided to make a date with some ducks a loaf of bread and a very impatient toddler and went for a walk down to the canal. It was so nice to be out and about with another adult rather than just myself and the kids. We nipped into the fish and chip shop along the way and chucked them into pram tray then set off for the village. When we got to the canal bank we sat down on the bench and just chilled out and ate our chips and fed the ducks. No swans though unfortunately as there was a childrens fishing match on. We then headed on into the village. We were heading for the cricket club but I was wearing some silly shoes and my feet were hurting hobbling down the cobbled street so we stopped off for a pint of shandy instead and a bag of reay salted, heaven (I am on a diet so don't tell anyone) we then ambled back home. I posted piccies of our day out yesterday on my blog if you'd like to take a look :) Hope you have a nice weekend :)
